Mine would sometimes just straddle her water dish -- made refilling a pain. And yeah, sometimes she was actually drinking the water too. lol
This was taken not too long after I received her and I didn't know to dampen her substrate a bit (I was keeping her dry like for other Aphonopelmas).
Now, I keep about a quarter to a third of her substrate dampened (and simply rotate the dampened area).
