Lucky, I wish I could get to see atleast one of my T's molt, but they always make sure to do it when I am not looking. Either it happens while I'm asleep or at work. But congrats on the molt, and getting to get pictures Ariel.

Great pics! You caught the interesting part.. the first part of the molt, when they pop the carapace and start coming out.. it's slow and you can't really tell anything is going on. Atleast, that's how it was with the whole TWO I've seen LOL

Indeed!!! I really hope you get to see a molt soon.

Must be uber-mean P. cambrigei molting time. Mine is about to molt as well....Didn't even stir when I picked up his container to check on him earlier. I even took the lid off, and pulled back the hide, which is almost a guaranteed Flying Psalmo reaction. It was the funniest thing doing all that bare-handed while standing up in the middle of the room, and shining a flashlight in his face. So......that one is close, if not imminent.
Me too. Lol that was my clue mine was in premolt, I had to rehouse him and I got NOTHING no threats no lightning speed. It didn't click until the next night when he refused food. {D it's been almost two weeks so hopefully it won't be much longer now.

Thats how it was with my last two. My B. smithi molted while I was at work and my T. gigas molted when I was asleep. {D And IF my C. shioedtei DID molt, she's in her corkbark hide so I can't see her.

Lol, still, it'd be awsome to get to see the entire process :D

Heres the molt. I estimated a little wrong, the molt (obviously) measures 2". After getting a good look s/he did gain some good size. I don't think I'm going to beable to untangle it to sex him/her without ruining it.

Congrats!

Glad you finally got your first, watched, under your belt :)

I had 2 molt in the past 2 days as well with both gaining some considerable size so I'm a happy spider pappa! :D

My P. irminia and B. smithi.. Both now roughly 3" from about 1/2 to 3/4 I got a few months back.. They are growing fast and huge!
