This dude is otherwise very healthy, and has never done this. The other day the maniac devoured 3 reasonably large meal worms. This morning I found some weird brownish substance next to it in the enclosure. I'm pretty sure it's throw up, but he doesn't usually do this and like I said is otherwise very active and healthy. Should I be worried?

A friend of mine who is Swedens best arachnologist claims that wolfspiders can throw up if they eat prey containing toxins! I hadnt a clue that they could, but spiders can apperantly, so i dont see any reasons your cant!?

My other mantises eat them without any problems, and he has been eating them previously without complications. The only thing I can think of is if he overate, or if he got an intestinal blockage.

Could be food poisoning?

Pics of enclosure would help. I’ve heard of this in many other mantids and have had it happen to myself with various species with different results- some died while others lived on. Is there good ventilation? Is it humid? This species is notoriously prone to fungal and bacterial illnesses.

Do you feed your mealworms carrots? I've read that can be a problem with mantids. Puking and possibly dying is the result with what I read. I dont use carrots with my insect feeders I feed my mantids. So I dont have proof of this.
