So got my 1st delivery of 2025. Going to document all I get on here from now on, with the name of the title it won't just be tarantulas but I will start it off with one.
Here is my new H. Mac sling 20250121_212603.jpg

Here is the cutest little thing I've ever seen Hymenopus Coronatus (Orchid Mantis) 20250121_213458.jpg

I'm extremely envious I want one of those mantids. I love mantids they do possess a level of intelligence. Fascinating animals just wish they had a longer life span.

H. maculata are gorgeous T's but not for the inexperienced. Nonetheless nice additions enjoy your new buddies.

I used to have a couple. Had to move house back in 2022 (my mother in law fell terminally I'll so we had to care for her in her adapted flat) and had to get rid of most of my collection so went from about 110 to 5, but since moved again and started the collection back up so I'm up to 23 T's 3 scorps 2 mantis and a jumping spider.

Cool, I wish I could have that many but I purposely keep a small collection.

If I removed the lock on myself I would go crazy and have a very large collection 😆

Yeah only mantis I've ever had was a Membreca (giant Asian) and it was only 2 moults away from adult when I got it so this thing is tiny, it's actually hard to spot it's feet with the naked eye looked as if it was floating on my hand

I don't think I will be able to get that much again, my old house they had there own room, in here it's just a large walk in closet they have. So my aim for the end of the year and for a good few years after is to be around 60 T's I feel like that's my sweet spot when I had that many it felt like a chore sometimes feeding and maintenance of them all.

This is one of the main reasons why I will not have a large collection. I love to have that many but the reality of it is exactly what you mentioned.
