My wife did the contract thing to me when I got my third tarantula. I signed it and then time passed. Now I have 21{D

Give it time, she will soon give in. It took a couple of years. Secret is if they dont see them, they dont care. I only have my 4 prized ones in the house. the others are in the garage.
Oh and one is really gravid so its alot more than 21{D
And its in the house!
You are giving me hope !
Strange, just when I think I have all the ones I like, I find a few more I want. I'm addicted to collecting T's:drool:

I'm in the same boat. I don't mind though. Ten is a pretty good number of T's! Plus, when you have a limit, mine is fifteen, you tend to only get the ones that you're really into. Since slowing down on the acquisition of new T's, I've focused on maintenance and videos and all kinds of other fun stuff. Like Talon said though, I'm sure the limit is only a temporary thing, a test if you will. Once she sees that you are capable of keeping a promise and having some self control I'm sure she won't have a problem with you indulging a bit.

I've been very lucky so far. My fiance has let me get whatever I want on the condition that I don't get so many that I can't look after them properly but.. Really that isn't exactly an issue with T's, its not like a dog that needs constant attention and care. I currently have 12 T's and 1 trapdoor spider. And possibly getting a B Vagans that was originally owned by Stan Shultz a few years ago. (Extremely excited, pretty lucky that I know a ton of people that were personal friends of his. Makes me pretty happy that one day I get to meet him lol, its like meeting a celebrity)
My fiance didn't like them much at first but now is adamant about trying to hold just about everything, even if it is pretty angry all the time lol. Give it time and they may grow on her. I've been lucky with what I'm able to get. But I'm still not able to have a king baboon. Not really that sure why? I was allowed to have an H. Lividum but no king baboons and she understands temperments of both lol. Still don't quite get it. And no T. Blondi's just cuz she doesn't like the idea of troubled molts but if I really wanted one she'd say yes.

Lol our collection is at 12 T's, 1 true spider, 2 snakes, 1 Blue tongue skink, 17 geckos, and previously had 3 bearded dragons.

Yep thats exactly what happens. i limited myself so many times but I still end up getting more. Whether because its such a screaming deal or I found another one that I just have to add to my collection.

And yes there is definately hope. When I got married I had 5 tarantulas. She was like Nope! So I sold them. Took 5 years to get another one into the house and it was a gift from her brother to me! than I traded that one for 2. than got three with a contract. Than 4 with an agreement to a task which she thought was impossible for me. (For some T's nothing is impossible{D ) Than I stuck with four for a while. Than it became 7 than 10 than 15 than 17 now 21:clap: Than breeding! LOL
Don't ever give up hope. Persistance is the way to the light! Now after all the years of being married, I went from Zero to hero and she now just looks at them and then says...You are sick (Says it in a playful way).

Good picks!

Man, it's great to not have a S.O. to limit my T collection LOL

My wife complained about my spending habits once. I separated our bank accounts.

Never heard another complaint after that. Probably because paying half the bills on $700/month she gets from her BS excuse for self-employment is kind of hard.

I make the money, I spend the money. How I want.

I plan on building a cabinet to house them in. It will be thermostat controlled and around 6' wide, 2' deep, 4' tall. This will have to wait a few weeks until I graduate college/finish inventory at work. I figure it is big enough to potentially hold more than 10 t's lol.:} :}

You are on the right track. She don't see them, she won't think about complaining. {D

You might as well convert the whole room. Speaking of holding more than 10.
