I bought a sling last December (as in 2018) so it’s about a year and a half old now. I’ve witnessed two molts but I think it’s about tripled in size since then, but after a period of beginning to turn black, it now looks... light brown and almost transparent.

Eating and everything is ok I was just looking at it earlier and surprised by the color change. The first two pics were taken this month and the second was after the first molt that I saw in August 2019. The last pic is a baby pic from December 2018 the day she got to my house! I’m not sure that anything is wrong but I thought it would be turning deeper black (but wow they weren’t kidding about the slow growth rate!!!)

Tarantulas can look drastically different between each molt. I seen this genus not turn black until it was already an adult. I am guessing it is just trying out a new style since youth seem to like doing that. :p

That Is normal for this stage. The older they get, the blacker they get. It won't be Black until it is close to an adult..
It will be grey to brown for its juvenile stage
