My apartment did pest control. Do I need to do anything?

When I got home today there was a note in the kitchen saying that my maintenance had treated for pests (mice, cockroaches, ants). Instead of spraying anything they claim to have left "odorless traps" that will take a few days to work. This is all the information I have at the moment. Should I be worried? My T's are in a separate room from the kitchen and there is no way they'd be able to make direct contact with the traps but I'm still worried.

BATTEN THE HATCHES!! jk. If they just set out traps you should be okay. If there's a possibility of vapors which concerns you, since it's winter and humidity is overall lower anyway, you can cover most of the enclosures in sandwich wrap to limit the space for anything foreign in the air to get in. You can also consider an air purifier for the area they are kept. Other than that, if you can't move them anywhere, you're options are limited.

This is why I'm so glad there's always someone home in my apartment...at least during the times maintenance is skulking about. I have roach traps in my apartment (the little black ones for roaches) and it has never proven to be a problem for my spiders. I believe the "pest" has to come into contact with them for them to work, so they don't really worry me. But if these things release something, that sounds like another matter. Maybe you could be naughty and remove them?

I doubt you have to worry, the traps probably contain a bait that pests will eat and then die. Our apartment complex uses a caulk like stuff for the same purpose.

Only way I can imagine you having a problem is if some pest eats the bait and then makes it into your T enclosure before it kicks the bucket, but that isn't very likely.

My apartment does the preventative spray. When they come by, I put all my Ts in the bedroom and close the door and I've not had any problems. Traps shouldn't be an issue at all.

Ok I'm sure some people will have something to say about this.........I do NOT do this NOW but in the past I have

I would spay your basic Home Pest Control Indoor and Outdoor Insect Killer spray around my T shelf.......not on it but say about 2feet around it.........the reason being is we had a VERY bad ant prob.......so at the time my thought was ok either I spray or the ants will kill my T's......on a side note before this they did kill one of my T's......woke up to a big trail of ants and guess where they were......all over my king baboon

now mind you I would remove all my T's before I did the spay....wait a good hour or two and then put them back........never had a ant prob again and or any other pest.......and all my T's were fine.......did this for 3 years

Cover your whole T enclosures with a thin sheet of cloth, put a lot of houseplants like photos, lucky bamboo as they absorb atmospheric poisons as well as put some huge chunks of activated carbons as they also absorb aerial pollutants

Don"t be paranoid and give yourself headaches over this stuff.
I have my house and property treated for pests monthly without any harm.

Same here, I've had my house sprayed multiple times and I just have them stay out of my animal room.

Well this is definitely a late response but I have a similar problem my Apartments just put a note on the counter in my kitchen saying they came in and treated for roaches spiders gnats and other pests and they didn't even give me a warning and my tarantulas are in the living room so I don't know if they sprayed in there or how they even did the treatment. You would think they would have to tell you when they're coming in. That's crazy.
