Unfortunately his problem was more serious than that - it appears the spider failed to shed its thorax and was therefore totally unable to ingest food or water.

Trust me, I tried everything to get the poor beast to eat.

Oh, I thought it was just the fangs and checiclerae. (sp?)

Still, I am very sorry for your loss. Go buy a new one... you'll feel so much better!
