I might try this. Having two others die was really disappointing so I’m paranoid the same is going to happen with this one!

If it does eventually resurface, I might cover one side of the tub with something dark and try to encourage it to burrow there so that I can peek in.

Thanks!
Once they’re big enough for a cork bark hide, you can try placing it close to the side with a starter burrow that leads that way, but really, they’ll do whatever they want. My G. pulchra has since filled in the side that made up the window, so if he were to close himself off again, I’d have no idea how he was doing and would just have to trust the process! (He’s a lot bigger than yours now, though, so it’s way less of a concern at his current size.)

For such small creatures they seem to be so determined that they know what they’re doing!

I feel that as with many creatures, it’s a case of hoping they can get past the tiny delicate stage so that it becomes slightly less concerning.

Hi.
I posted on here almost a month ago about my 1.5cm G.pulchra sling that are a large waxworm and then burrowed down and disappeared. People were incredibly helpful and confirmed that I was correct in thinking I should not be too concerned but to come back in a month if there was no sign of life.

It has now been a month since I last saw it (last seen on April 4th). I have been keeping a tiny bit of water in its bowl and putting drops of water on the substrate a few times a week to keep some humidity.

I am very concerned as I also got two B.hamorii slings shortly afterwards and they both died within 48hours. Though they came from somewhere else and I suspect they were already dying when I received them, it does scare me that maybe I made a mistake.

Should I continue waiting for this sling to emerge? Or should I do something else?

Thanks again for any advice!

Update!

After poking the tiniest hole in what I thought was the burrow, I noticed the following morning that it had been blocked up by a lump of coco fibre. I assumed it had fallen into the hole I had made so I moved it slightly. The next day I noticed a crater had been dug out the other side of the tiny piece of cork bark!

I have now moved the container to a much darker location and have now seen her (maybe if I say it’s female, then perhaps it will work?!) walking around and moving substrate. She is almost twice the size she was a month ago, so she definitely moulted, I just wasn’t expecting the size difference to be quite so noticeable!

Thanks for the help!
