I have a moth that had cacooned in early fall so I assumed it would wait till spring to hatch. But instead I realized that she did hatch and has laided eggs everywhere (which I probably won’t hatch?). Her wings are a bit tattered and she must be exhausted from all the egg laying is there anything I can do to help her out?

Below I have a picture of her as a caterpillar and her now

No, unfortunately there is nothing you can do for her. Were you keeping the cocoon indoors? If so, that is why she hatched too soon. Ordinarily, she would have overwintered in her cocoon, remaining dormant while it was cold, then emerging when it warmed up in the spring - when the rest of her kind were also emerging, so she could find a mate to fertilize her eggs. Warm indoor temperatures will trick moths into emerging early, when there are no mates for them. She will expend her final energies laying eggs - but she is not parthenogenetic and the eggs, being unfertilized, will not hatch.

In case you were wondering, she appears to be one of the Heterocampinae - probably the White-blotched Heterocampa, Heterocampa umbrata. I have read that adult Heterocampa do not feed, so her remaining life will be short. (There are a number of moths that do not feed as adults, living off the energy reserves that they stored up as caterpillars. They do not live long - typically only a week or two after they emerge from their cocoons. Males tend to expend that energy more quickly, flying around in search of mates, while females are less likely to fly, conserving their energy for egg laying, so they live a bit longer than males do.)
