Most likely baby black widows hatched by my window and got in, cause for concern?

Slings can and will inject venom, although it can be a little difficult for them.

Also, from what I've seen/read/experienced, the effects of venom get worse as the spider ages. Sling: mild, local reaction (redness, itching); juvenile: stronger effects; adult: full-blown symptoms. I'd imagine this is a product of quantity rather than a change in venom composition.

Edit: I thought I had something on my website regarding this exact question, but I can't find it now. Maybe it's there, tucked away somewhere... Points to anyone who can find it, haha

They CAN and WILL bite if provoked, just like any other spider would. I've seen it. It is not, however, "dangerous." It produces a localized reaction with spiderlings, with the effects worsening as the spider ages.

The hatchling widows also aren't venomous yet, so you don't have to worry about getting envenomated while you capture and release them.

I'm 99% sure that ALL venomous spiders have venom from sling to adult, but lack the ability to penetrate skin until they are large enough.

I emailed the arachnologist Dr. Susan Reichert from Estein's post. She told me the information is correct, and she learned it from a book back in ~1969. Now perhaps more recent studies have shown otherwise, I'd think she would know that being an expert. I trust her, but people can be wrong at times.
