Molting

I hear alot about tarantulas and their final molt. I was just wondering how do you know when the tarantula is going through its final molt? Is there a set number of times a tarantula will molt throughout its life? Just a bit curious after hearing about the final molt so many times. ;P

Males have a final molt which is their mature molt, when they gain the hooks and their front 2 legs and sperm deposits on their palps, I've heard of some mature males molting again, in which they lose their mating parts. I'm pretty sure females will continue to molt for the rest of their lives.
