I had a bad situation earlier this week. My S. subspinipes had a molt that went very badly. As it was trying to pop out of its skin, the head and the first few segments remained stuck. It was stuck like that for about 4 days until I decided I had to intervene. I gently peeled the old skin up a little bit, and gently snipped it with forceps, freeing its head and mandibles. It seems to be doing a bit better now I think, but its terminals are still partly stuck by the old molt. The question is... did I act correctly in intervening in this problem. Did I act too soon? Any advice on this?
