Molting after maturing

I know that most male tarantulas have their final molt and then die, but I have occasionally heard of some species molting again after maturing. I have a MM T Vagans that is exhibiting some symptoms of premolt oddly enough. He has hooks, emboli, and I've seen him on his back spinning sperm webs, so I'm quite confident it's a mature male. Lately though, he has gotten a (still tan) bald spot on his abdomen, and had trouble climbing on the glass while doing laps around his enclosure. He has more recently refused eating for some time, although I know that is normal for any MM. I was just wondering if anyone else had experiences of T vagans molting again after hooking out, or what other species this has been observed in. I feel like I've heard about it with grammastolas.

Thanks

It was a long time ago but I believe I had heard this happening with someone’s Tliltocatl spp. That’s about as much as I can say

I believe it’s possible but they usually get stuck in the molt and die, and if they don’t then pretty much guaranteed they will lose their pedipalps

Bald spot only indicates kicking hairs. totally normal, not a premolt sign
Eating less means he's getting old, normal for a MM nearing the end
Slipping while climbing means the foot pads have worn down, also normal for a MM but doesn't mean he'll molt to correct it.

Sounds like an old male to me, nothing I read indicates he's going to molt again. And if he does, he does, and likely dies. Not sure there's anything to be done either way. Homie is on his way out
