Mostly I have a bin o' molts that are slowly falling apart, but I decided to attempt displaying one of the most recent from my G. Iheringi and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out for a first attempt. Not really sure what to do with the shredded abdomen, so I went with "do nothing". 20240613_110435.jpg

I usually give mine away every six months or so to my friend who makes jewelry out of them, so I just started up a new one. Here's this month's skin box:

I’m always happy with receiving donations!!

I am literally THEE queen of molts… A generally well known fact on AB. lol… I made a thread a while ago about it in the Watering Hole - check it out!!!

i send my molts off to someone who uses them for art....the other week she called, so i did a quick pick up of all the molts laying around the room....lol...these things add up quick.

I wonder what nutter butter would want all those ????

IV not managed to get a single one yet 😏. All the action happens in the burrow and when it does eventually turf it out its in 100 bits by the time I get to it.
Lemme know if you need tips on how to get molts out intact without worrying about harming your freshly molted Ts!

I don’t see the point of keeping sources of urticating setae.
That’s because you suck… lol
That sounds absolutely, @#!%&^* horrible!
You should see the bikini I made out of my extras!

I feel @MrsHaas should be in this thread
HERE I AM TO PUT YOU ALL TO SHAME!

Below are pics of my box of loose molts from my own collection and donations from other AB members.

I also make crafts, decor, and jewelry out of molts, so I often go thru my giant boxes and hand pick perfectly shaped, quality looking legs and chelicera/fangs and sort them by size and species.

When I get a perfect molt I make shadow boxes

…sorry, the lighting isn’t great… and I’ve sold off a ton of my shadow boxes so I don’t have as many to post… but you guys get the gist lol

Those shadow boxes are fabulous 🙂
Thank you! I looooove making art out of molts… I’ve always been artsy fartsy - I have a Bachelor’s in fine arts. I’ve dabbled in painting and sculpture and graphic design, and video/sound art - but I honestly believe I finally found my truest creative medium in molts, as bizarre as that may seem lol. And I’m very blessed with an amazing T collection with a large array of species. Plus I can’t take all the credit… They do most of the work lol!!
