Moldy tongs and dubia colony

What's the best way to clean my utensils without endangering my Ts or feeders? My dubia colony had become disgustingly moldy, so I moved the roaches to a different container and used my tongs to clean out the original home. I cleaned both it, and the tongs with water.

Is there anything to avoid (dish soap etc) when doing this? I want to keep the roaches (and by extension my T) alive. Also don't want substances on the tong to affect the spider if I need to replace a water dish or spot clean.

Edited for clarity

if you treat them like regular eating utensils, meaning u rinsed and dried them after there is absolutely nothing to worry about

do absolutely nothing - if you do anything to treat the mold your house will become totally enveloped in mold

Green and black mold that you can find in the eggcrates are harmful, even for you, white mold of the substrate is harmless.

They were asking about cleaning utensils.
Also, mold in a roach colony could literally wipe them out if allowed to persist.
per the last thread on mold i detailed techniques that could be used to clean out an enclosure thoroughly, without the use of caustic chemicals and in a way that would be terrarium safe - i was then told that this is horrible advice and would lead to infestation somehow - which is why i find the advice given here ironic since it mirrors the advice i gave but applied to tongs and the like

I don't remember seeing that thread. Lol
You can absolutely clean an enclosure.
I wouldn't clean one with something in it but it's good practice to clean roach bins periodically. You transfer them to a new bin and clean the old with soapy water. You could even use alcohol or a deluted bleach solution if you wanted. Utensils can also be cleaned if they get gummy.
As a side note, you can even sterilize substrate before use. I microwave eggcrate before it enters a bin and have no issues with mold, mites or anything else.

One thing is mold in the substrate, like in the other thread where nukeing is useless and another totally different one is the mold you can find in eggcrates, food etc so don't be childish please

what i recommended were things like hot/boiling water, distilled vinegar (originally got this from aquaculture and have since been applied to arachnoculture), changing out affected substrate for clean substrate and general things of this nature

you just misunderstood what we were trying to tell you and it seems you are still salty about us trying to explain how sterilisation was hardly neccessary

edit: it was also am entorely different issue

my original comment was the joke, what you quoted was the explanation
