Mold? Web? Fluff?

Just noticed today my A chalcodes has some odd looking white fluff on her leg. She grooms daily, so this has to be fairly new..

Any guesses on what this could be? I'm reluctant to just head in there with tongs and take it off.

Probably setae, I'd leave it alone and keep an eye on. Mycosis is possible but unlikely. Most of these are WC. Keep enclosure dry

Thank you. I hope its something that goes away on it's own. I believe her to be an adult and dont see her molting any time soon, if at all. Would hate for something odd like that to be on her forever.

Don’t know what it is but it doesn’t look too alarming. Poop or urticating satae ?

Looks like some discolored setae. Doesn't look like mold or fungus or poop.

Give it a water dish and let the entire enclosure and substrate dry out just to be safe.

Will do. She actually is getting a new enclosure today. I'll be sure to fill it with fresh and dry substrate.
Would the setae change back to it's normal coloration in time?

It could also be some webbing. I've had that happen before. P. irminia completely tangled in it's own webbing and when I pulled it loose it had bits caught to it.

I hope that's all it is. Maybe it'll come off when I rehouse her... *fingers crossed*

She is a big ole gal! She moved a bit. Gives a different angle of the leg in question.

I hope its nothing serious. She's my big queen and gets a proper castle today! A custom 10x10x10 glass 3D printed one.
