Mite infestation

So I breed jumping spiders this past year, i suddenly had a ton of babies at once and started making FF cultures in mass. Well 2 days ago there was mites literally in the hundreds crawling everywhere on the container. I tossed them. And wiped things down. I put some sticky papers around the shelf they were on. Well I just got home from work and came straight to check on my Ts and baby jumpers and found maybe 20 more on my T enclousures. I’m trying not to panick. I read online rubbing alcohol will kill mites and eggs. Will mites from FF cultures hurt my Ts? One is hiding in premolt and I really don’t want him vulnerable or to rip his tank apart and bother him. Anyone dealt with this before? If so how did you remedy this, and for how long until it righted itself? Thanks for any advice!

It sounds like grain mites issue.

Clean / wipe the jumping spider enclosures / containers and place else, away from the FF cultures. It seems like the source is from there.

The being said, grain mights will likely be keep coming back. It’s rather just annoying than harmful.

Ok thank you that was my fear if they were dangerous or not. lol Google traumatized me I have seen an occasional mite throughout the years but seeing a swarm freaked me out! Thank u for helping me relax a bit I’m doing another round of cleaning g and will move the cultured to a different room just to be safe.

Just clean things up and dry things out, this will minimize and control if not eliminate a mite issue....but it's certainly more of an annoyance than a danger.

Ok thank u! I started using rubbing alcohol my room smells very strong now, I didn’t think it would. I’m airing it now. And I moved all my cultures upstairs. I checking my hissing roaches there were some on them too but I only saw like 5 but I moved them out of my room also. lol my Ts are my favorite!

Ok goid to know! They r very small not like the pictures I see with some T’s where they are noticeably large! I keep my dogs food down here would the mites be attracted to that? Deciding how much to move out.

Thank you again! After my extreme cleaning last night this morning I found only 10-20 that I killed. Just got home from work again and only 3 more, but I have heard they lay eggs in places I can’t see so I will wipe down again. I feel lucky, I’m not even joking g when I say hoards of mites just swarming! Looked like almost solid white moving! I need to research how long until the eggs hatch so I know how long until I’m in the clear!
