Misting - am I missing something?

One of the odd things I find is how many threads (new and old) I've read in Scorpion forums that say "mist once a week", or "mist twice a week".

Very, very few T keepers mist (maybe a drop or two on an arboreal web), and centipede owners typically do not either.

Can't you just moisten substrate directly, and add a water dish like you would a T or a centipede for the more moisture-dependent species? Or am I missing something?

Water dishes are death wishes to scorps especially younger ones
They get trapped in the surface tension of the water and often times drown. I've seen many people lose many rare specimens to tiny bottle caps

Misting is more or less for the paranoid keeper but it had proven to help molting and scorpions in pre molt. Scorpions obtain 90% of there moisture from food.
