My only problem with regular peat is the huge bale you need to buy at the garden center, and this is the reason I initially tried the Miracle Gro two years ago.

When we moved from NY to the west coast, I was "not" lugging that monster bale across the US. ;) We now live in a condo and storage is an issue. The 5lb ziplock bag is easier to manage...

Same here. I could not find a small bag of peat moss anywhere. It was always these huge bags that probably wouldn't even fit in my car. That's the only reason i got this miracle-gro stuff.:wall:

Huge bags work great for me, but I grow carnivorous plants so I tend to go through alot of the stuff. Not to mention that for CPs you can't have any fertilizer in it.

I like the huge bale as well. I do use alot of it when I create my custom enclosures and I never reuse substrate. Whenever I rehouse a T, I dump all the old substrate out and put in fresh. Thats the best part about the huge bail. I always have some on tap. I keep them fresh by putting them in 5 gallon buckets from Home depot. Whenever I need some, just dip into the bucket. Plus expanding my collection of tarantulas did not send me making trips to get more substrate. The price is right as well!
