Another member and I were having a discussion in pms, and we wonder...what substrate do you guys use for your millipedes that you find works best? Coco-fiber, peat, potting mix etc.

Please include other materials added, humidity and temp you use this substrate at.

Thanks!

Well, as of right now all I have in my tank is a Sphagnum/Peat moss mix(Zilla brand). But next week I am getting some coco fiber and will be mixing it in. But my tank's temp stays at around 70 degrees and the humidity stays between 60% and 70%. I mist their tank normally twice daily. I hope to see more digging or tunneling when I add the coco fiber.

I use a mix of potting soil, sand and loamy earth (4: 1 :1) as a basic substrate. I add (amount depends on the species) rotten leaves and wood by temperatures of 22 to 28°C by a humidity of 70-80%.

I use a mixture of peat moss and rotten wood 20% - 80%. I cover it all with decayed oak leaves. They go nuts. They eat their substrate as well as bury in it.
