Picked a few of these up at Michaels on sale. I drilled 1/16" holes in the material with no sign of cracking. The only con I see with this enclosure is the lid which does not lock on tight. I could see this working for small slings since the dimensions are 3.5 x 3.5 x 4". They are indeed stackable.
For sure, I plan to put some amethyst crystals or clear quartz on top to make it secure. If the lids were tight fitting it would be the perfect enclosure.
Those are nice. I've made sling enclosures out of similar containers before and the solution I've found for the non-locking lid is to use a soldering iron to very slightly melt the corners of either the base or the lid (whichever is on the inside when closed) to flatten it out enough to create a bit of a friction fit when you put the lid on. The friction is enough to prevent any T from being able to open it, and if you get it right, you can even pick up the entire enclosure by the lid without it falling off. It's hard to describe accurately, so I hope this makes some sense...
I saw these. They have some that are lower, and ideal for inbetween sizes juvies. With those 40% off rebates, they are awesome alternatives to acrylic enclosures marketed for tarantulas.
Especialy the price.
Good catch!
I put rocks, gems and crystals on all my enclosures. It solves the issue. And its eye candy.
