I have both and if I could only have one of them it would be the Smithi. So get the Smithi.

if your going for the value of the T go for B smithi because they are more expensive but if your going for the quality of the T go for the curly hair :) curly hair is my 2nd favorite brachy my first is b klassi. They are so cute more cuter and friendlyer than a smithi also they are very adorable and handble. infact there is a female curly right now in the ad go buy it. all my friends love to hold my curly and i always use my curly to teach my friends how to hold a tarantula. go for the curly my friend you wont be sorry :D

Only you can really make up your mind about these things. Don't let us tell you what to do or who to be...

Smithi looks cooler and is a little more rare, Albopilosum is cheaper and grows faster.

B.albopilosum for sure

I would get the curly hair because everyone has a B.smithi, our B.albopilosum is always out on display and is finally starting to get some longer hairs. :D

I thought everybody had an albopilosum... All i know is i have 3 already and can lay my hands on 2 more without leaving my small town. A smithi is a mailorder. They're both awesome t's anyway. The OP should get 3 of each.

lol

Really though, i think that because of the faster growth rate a Curly might be a little more rewarding than a Red Knee as a first T. If i was shopping for a 35th T and had that choice i'd go for smithi too.

depends, do you want a T with a permanent bad hair day and no color or do you want a colorful T that actually looks good?

not everyone, Back in the day that was the common petstore T , now its a G. rosea. I always wanted a smithi when i was younger and my parents wouldnt let me BUY a T , they had the opinion they are in the yard you dont need to buy a tarantula lol
anyway.
I just got my first last year, quite a wait.

but the albopilosum looks like a freak to me lol

A vote for the Curly hair

A little story to testify as to the sweet nature of the B. albopilosum. Last night I took her out of her enclosure to hold her for a little while. The roommate had a friend over who took notice to the spider on my shirt and wanted to see her. He put his hand out to hold her so I let him and she climbed onto his sweater. When we went to take her off, the hooks on her feet were stuck to his sweater.:8o After getting seven of her feet off of him I couldn't for the life of me get the last one and I didn't want to hurt her by just pulling her off. This is where it gets interesting. We already have one very amused man, one stuck spider and me, who's afraid of hurting the sticky-footed fuzzy, so why not add one more. My boyfriend had to come in and grab hold of the spider's stuck leg and pull it off of the sweater while kept the other seven from latching on again.

Not only did she not try to bite as many spiders under this much stress would, the entire time, she never even flinched.:D She could not have been more calm in such a hectic situation. She didn't even seem jumpy afterwards.

Our smithis kick hair to no end and are very skittish. If you even just move the cage they're kicking up a whirlwind of urticating hairs.

If you're going for looks, get the smithi. If you're going for personality, get the albopilosum. You won't regret it.

I love my freaky looking B. albopilosum it is calm, out where it can be seen and voracious. My B. smithis are more reclusive and skittish but gorgeous. I agree with get both, they have very different temperments and appearances not to mention if you get juvies or slings you can watch them grow and develop for the less than the price of a single adult.
