To rehouse find a large bag, cover the whole container opening, and let her go in the bag. Keep her there and do same thing to get her in her new enclosure.
This is safe for both you and your T. This works really god with fast spiders, like my OBT ling.
i respect her and cant afford an escape since i have a baby at home. Never too cautious..

I had to rehouse my smithi only twice so far, both time I simply put both cages next to each other and prodded her gently. Some T's react different to different tools you use, too. Straw, tongs, paintbrush - it might be one of those she just ignores and can be manipulated with pretty easily. They don't really go running except for very short distances, my girl doesn't bite the tool I use anyways, doesn't kick hairs either at all (I think I have only seen her kick hairs once or twice ever so far...hehe). They are all different, but way easier to deal with than an arboreal tarantula who usually run greater distances and some being jumpy.

If you want to be on the safe-side, use one of the little boxes crickets come in, put it over her and gently (!) push the cover under her to swoop her up into it (watch to not squeeze / hurt the legs).

Your B.smithi is beautiful! Take it easy, you don't want to hurt her/him. One of my G.rosa will let me pet it like a dog and handle it but if it sees/feels a brush goes right into defense. Best of luck!

I have kevlar gloves ... they are puncture resistance and cut resistant
Did you test this before? I owned a pair of these also and let me tell you, scissors had no problem cutting the trigger finger off. I'd test this with a needle, if you can poke it with a needle and it goes through your in trouble.
