I guess its my turn to start a photo thread. I am up to 11 Ts including today's acquisitions. I'll start with what I got today.

@Casey K sent me three pokies:

Tiny P metallica

1.5" female P smithi- I used the bathtub to get her into her home. As soon as she made it out of the vial she stretched out in true pokie fashion.

And finally a 2" P rufilata female. She immediately wedged herself between the cork and side of the enclosure. I checked back after she had been in the dark for a bit and she seems a bit more comfortable.

Well its Saturday night and I'm bored stuck at home with hurricane Harvey swirling around us so I thought I'd throw a couple of update photos out there.

Its like the Ts know something is up with the weather because they have all been hanging out in plain sight.

First, the P metallica who I caught molting on Friday. Its a surprisingly easygoing spider but growing slower than I anticipated. Its tough to see whats up in the picture but its huddling to the right with the molt on the left.

I won't bother with the P smithi because she is nothing but a dirt curtain right now.

The rufilata is quickly becoming my favorite. She is already almost 4" up from her 2" when I got her. And she's absolutely beautiful!

More to come!

The first T to get me back into the hobby (and second overall) was a B smithi, now hamorii "female" that a family member gave to me against my wife's will. As it happens sometimes she was a he so I traded him to someone to breed in exchange for the below C cyaneopubescens. I attempted to breed her once and she molted out. I bred her with a new male on 7/29 and a couple times after that. She has been a bottomless pit since but I can't decide whether she is gravid every time I look at her.

Meanwhile the B hamorii that I traded was successful so I got 15 slings from the guy who bred them. They were about 1/3" when I got them and a few have molted this week to become 1/2".

Well its molting time here. P metallica molted this week and is starting to show some blue. My B auratum male is ready to burst and some of the hamorii slings are ready to pop too!

I also rescued a poor A hentzi from craigslist for a whopping $20. Came with a HUGE enclosure that I need to change out, probably $20-30 worth of decorative wood, a cricket critter keeper, spray bottle (that I of course don’t need), a cool dragon decoration that I may have to move to a gbb enclosure, and a whole roll of that terrarium background paper printed with a forest picture. All in all a great deal.

Male B auratum molted today and I can’t believe he didn’t mature. Its the cleanest molt I’ve ever seen with what I assume is the sucking stomach still intact and attached!

I was feeding a few of the tarantulas that I didn’t get around to last night and I was surprised to see my H lividum all the way out of his burrow. I moved his terrarium to the bathtub to try to take pictures, knowing the chances were slim he’d still be out after moving the cage. Amazingly he sat there for several minutes allowing me to get in a good photo session. Just to show my appreciation he got an extra super worm. Hopefully this gives hope for H lividum owners everywhere!

Lovely looking spider! Miss the one I used to have, one of the better looking pet holes IMO.

Also their name is now Cyriopagopus lividus ;)

Of course, I knew about the change, I just can’t seem to remember which is the current name....
