You would love this species, very interesting spider....espeacialy when they are making there burrow.I love the look of this species. I need one.
That’s a beauty! I’ve heard they spend more time out in the open when they mature but it sounds like yours is still a little skittish? Mine will come out if I have it very dark and still but as soon as I come in to get a photo he is gone in a flash. Still a beautiful spider though! Here's mine. She got a rehouse recently and had to be unearthed. Saw her for approximately 1 minute and then she disappeared down the new burrow. She was bigger than I expected, I think she's probably over 4 inches at this point. View attachment 448929
She's still a juvie, she was around the size of yours about a year ago. And she is very secretive, the rehouse was the first time I've seen all of her in quite some time. I see legs occasionally and that's about it so far. I know she comes out at night sometimes because the dirt piles move around.I’ve heard they spend more time out in the open when they mature but it sounds like yours is still a little skittish?
Update:I just recently got an M robustum sling and I am super excited. I haven’t heard of that many people keeping them and so I was a little nervous at first but after two molts and a voracious appetite along with lots digging/excavating I think he is pretty healthy and happy!
