Sorry for the term "mealworm beetle" I just have no idea what there name is but anyway, I got some mealworms from my lps a few weeks ago and they've turned into beetles , I put one in Sativa's enclosure and she was there BOOM! NO more beetle ID like to breed the beetles beeing as she eats then a lot better than. Crickets, I keep chopping up apples and placeing them with the beetles and replace when dried up there in a tub with coconut substrate is this all I need to breed them or have I missed abything.

Mealworms are the larval form of the mealworm beetle, Tenebrio molitor, a species of darkling beetle.

UGH! This should go here! This thread does not have to do with tarantulas! What do we have the insect sub-forum for if people just post their insect related questions in the tarantula section?

Edit:

It looks like the mods have moved the thread. Good luck with the mealworms BTW. They are a very easy species to breed, though the elicit mixed feeding responses among T's.

I shouldn't of overreacted like that, but it is true that this thread does NOT have to do with tarantulas, and was therefore misplaced. A thread such as "Are mealworms a good food for tarantulas?" or "How do I feed mealworms to tarantulas?" would be appropriate in the tarantula section, but you're asking about raising beetles. Questions about beetles should go in the "Insects, Other Invertebrates, and Arthropods" sections. (Where it was moved to.)
