LOL, some people say that it affects them, others say it doesn't, I have personally never seen any of mine jump or react from a camera flash. I don't take that many pictures though.:)

he'll be okay, it really sounds like hes molting. do you mist the enclosure?
I do not think you should make such assertions to someone who is worried about their pet with these conditions:

The sling was upside down in the water dish for 36 hours, he then moved it while it was mid process.

Yes, it has flipped back over, but no that does not mean it will be 'okay.' I know you want to help him calm down, but let's not lie and make statements like yours; we don't know it will be okay. I sincerely hope it is, but moving it may have been a bad idea and done damage.

@ jayjay - Was the carapace popped at all? Do you see movement from it at all after it flipped the second time?

I would definitely leave it alone and let it proceed how it will. Constant checking can be stressful, so keep it to a minimum. Good luck!:)

Edited to add..... did everyone miss that it had been flipped for 36 hours before he moved it and it flipped again? Or am i misunderstanding something?

Only time will tell whether it has been harmed in the moving process. It also may have just been having problems to begin with and it is going to take awhile to molt.

From now on, don't ask the pet store what to do with/ for your tarantula. Try here first, the advanced search function is very useful. However, this thread is not one that I would say searching would have yielded the information you needed, after you had moved the T.:)

I hope it pulls through and I am in no way saying it won't. I just take exception to people telling you it would be 'okay' or that you 'were' over-reacting. There is no definitive signs that either are true.
