Hmmm...for both males and females? I read that males are significantly smaller than females?
It varies from individual specimen to specimen. While in general females get bigger, some males will mature out at similar sizes to adult females.

When it says males are smaller it's talking about body size not leg span often in leg span there is not much in it but females tend to be a lot bigger looking than males due to this

That's generally in terms of bulk, not leg span
OK. I am going to buy a T. stirmi with is declared as female with about 3.74" body size (bulk). So can I be sure that this is really a female when the body measurement at the handing over date actually shows 3.74"?

No, you need a moult to sex or know how to vent sex, immature male and female tarantulas are practically identical.

Luckily, stirmi are one of the easiest species to vent sex, males have a black triangular patch of hair between the first pair of book lungs, females don't.

3.74" body size
Also, pretty much everywhere that isn't mainland Europe use Diagonal Leg Span (measured from the tip of the front leg on one side to the tip of the rear leg on the opposite side), body length tells us almost nothing about the size of the tarantula in real terms.

OK. I already read about this sexing method in this forum and that this method is not easy in every case...So I thought the big size of 3.74" already indicates that "my" Stirmi is a female for sure. But you disagree and so I have to search for the black triangle. Many thanks.

You can accurately vent sex them from as little as 2" DLS. The larger they are the more obvious it is.

Everything that @The Grym Reaper Said go with that and when you see sizes online they generally mean diagonal leg span not body length. Also anything you read on the Internet I would take with a pinch of salt as these can be dangerous for any T get all you're information by writing and asking questions on here that way you are getting up to date information on any invertebrate

Its more likely than not that t stirmi both sexs do max out at 10 inch .do be prepared to A(wait a while if you aquire them small and even more if.waiting on a male to mature!they do get big.most european breeders will list body size not leg span E.G 3.5-4cm body would (in theraphosa s)would be about 6 moults so prolly 5-7" dls ifvthat helps

11” leg span is around max but I wouldn’t count on having one that big. Go look at Guinness record book , Goliath is largest T no doubt by weight.
Wouldn’t suprized me if they can pass 11” mark in the wild habitats. Very rarely I bet thought and no proof haha.
