EEK!! 2,000 per sac? ...that's a lot of work. :)

It'd take you weeks just to get 'em all separated...

It is interesting.

I think T. blondi in the deep rainforest(same with Pamphos) might find it more profitable to have few eggs and larger babies vs in more open situations(L. parahybana)...lots of little guys may be the trick. I bet prey availability(for such tiny slings vs larger ones) is a big part of that.

Or something along those lines.

Brachypelmas have giant, big, huge sacs too. So do Acanthroscurria and... i dunno, others.

Wow Fran, that picture is intense. And TWO of those cups?! Craziness. I don't know how you had the patience to try to separate all those little guys. As far as the topic of the thread, the only two I know of are Lasiodora and Brachypelma. I've heard Grammostola rosea produce lots of slings, too.
