Mantis Ooth?

I just wanted to make sure this was a mantid ooth

I'm sure you cant really Id it from the ooth but I'm pretty sure its just a Chinese mantid.

Actually, a lot of mantid ooths are species specific. Around here, that's how I ID them. The carolina, european and chinese mantis ootheca are completely different from one another.

Here's a quick guide...although a lot of those aren't native to the US.
