I believe it was a Sphodromantis sp. from Africa, not sure on the species though. She died a few months back, but I have that video as a a nice memory of her! She laid an infertile ootheca and died a few weeks later. I'm currently keeping a little Chinese mantis at the moment, and I'm sure I'll get some good videos of it when it grows a bit bigger.

That was cool. My ento teacher said a mantis got a hold of him and the spines on his front legs went through his fingernail. Owie! Strong little suckers.

I can feel your pain...I love the video..I have a mantid that has gone through 2nd difficult molts.. I have hand fed her to keep her alive...i am scared to try again but i love the creatures. great video. thanks!
