I think my Lasiodora parahybana is now an adult male. I raised it from a tiny sling. Now I have some questions.
I attached a photo of a backwards claw on the pedipalp, which I think ID's it as male. Is that right?

Besides that, his behavior is different, climbing all over the terrarium and not burrowing. There are lots of plants and plenty of room to climb.
Now I want to know, if it's an adult male, will he take food? He doesn't show any interest in food for 3 weeks. Looks very healthy.
I know of no one in Chicago who keep or breeds tarantulas, but I would make him available for breeding.

Mm?

Yes that means he is a Mature Male (Although my wife questions that statement). His restlessness is part of nature his life is limited now, his main interest is findind a mate and reproducing. He should still eat and be offered water, although his appetite should be minimal in comparison to earlier in his life. You can post him in the Invertsonals section to help find him love. Kevin
