Bought this guy about two years ago as a Haplopelma Lividum sling, it's now some type of mature male. I have attempted to breed with female Haplopelma Lividum, they lived with each other for about two weeks. He ended up with a missing leg, otherwise tip top shape. Don't know if they mated or not, guess I'll find out in the near future. But if anyone can id from these two pictures it would be awesome.

It looks nearly identical to the Chilobrachys Huahini. That would be my guess. The reason why I say that is because of the larger spinnerets. Doesn't have a tiger type pattern on the abdomen either. The Haplopelma genus usually does.

Very sweet, I've checked Chilobrachys Huahini and Chilobrachys andersoni out and I definitely think it's one of these two. You guys are awesome, thanks for the priceless information. I think I'll place a order for a female soon. Thanks again

Again the C. andersoni and C. huahini of the hobby is one and the same species. Just make sure the female is tannish coloured and not dark, as the dark ones most likely will be C. dyscolus.

Biggest readibly visible difference between the two species found in the hobby are outlined in bullets below:

C. andersoni/C. huahini:
• Front legs: Not noticeably stouter and longer than rear legs
• Rear legs: longer or equal to lenght of front legs
• Metatarsal scopula on rear leg: divided
• Overall coloration: tan, tannish grey, reddish tan
• Average size: Large up to 20 cm legspan

C. dyscolus:
Front legs: Noticeably stouter and longer than rear legs
Rear legs: shorter than lenght of front legs
Metatarsal scopula on rear leg: mostly undivided, but can be divided in juveniles
Overall coloration: deep brown, ashy brown, jet black
Average size: Large up to 18 cm legspan

Very best regards
Søren
