I have been told that male dubai cant fly or fly very high, I found it not to be true, at least in my case, at the time my sterilite container did not have air vents/holes, so I would just crack the lid a few inches in the corner. Well to my surprise one night I heard the male roaches, jumping, and fluttering around inside the container, and then out into my room.... Who knows how long they have been escaping, I just happened to be up at the time. I witnessed one 'fly' out and had to pounce on it before it went into my laundry bucket.
I dont stack my egg cartons high at all, they are actually faced down, and my container is a little over a foot tall. I have slits for air holes now and still I worry that they might be able to somehow squeeze through those slits by hanging onto the edge or something.
Now the problem is rounding up some of the straglers, I have found 6 so far that have escaped. 2 of them I found cause they would be climbing on the wall then try to fly towards something on my desk (scared the crap out of me), and the others I have found just running across the floor or when I move my cages aside I would find them squeezed between 2 enclosures. I have no idea if there are any left running around my room or house (shudder) folks would kill me if they knew lol. I am pretty sure they are still in my room as my room is a sauna at times due to all of the heat lamps I have for my Scorpions.
Is there a little roach trap I can make to catch any stragglers if there are any? Like put a egg carton out with a carrot on it or something and check it once a day?
Thanks
