I have a breeding pair of Hissing cockroaches who just had 40 little ones! My question is, when can I rehome the babies? I cannot bring myself to use the babies as feeders, and I want them to go to good homes. When can I remove the babies and separate them into containers?

I didn't think there was a time period they had to stay?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though.

The freshly emerged babies prefer to be close to their parents as with most roaches, but you can take them out any time you want. If you are talking about homes for other people, then the only way you can guarantee their safety is by raising them yourself or giving all or most of them to a trusted friend/other person. A lot of people who buy these roaches will let them be eaten right then and there or let them have babies of their own to be eaten.

Thank you guys! I appreciate the feedback! I had not planned on having baby roaches, but the mama was apparently pregnant when I got her. I am very partial to my critters and will hopefully find them all good home (However, that will likely be tricky in my area).

Congratulations! You're a Grandma :) lol

L2 (Second Instar) is about as early as you'll want to ship them out, or give them to friends. They are very delicate before that, and I believe that hissers exhibit rudimentary parental care as well.
