Hey guys!

I mated my M balfouri pair one time. The insemination seems successful but have to wait till egg sac is dropped obviously.

can anyone tell me how do I take care of the female now? And is there any behaviour observed with which we can confirm if the breeding is success.

Should I try and mate the same pair two or three more times?

Thanks in advance.

If it was successful, it only takes one insertion. Subsequent attempts you run the risk of someone getting eaten. It isn't always the male to be sacrificed...

You aren't doing a communal are you?

Did you see the male make a fresh sperm web before pairing? Was she refusing food before you paired?

Considering these guys breed accidentally in inferior environments (communals), she shouldn't require much. Just peace and quiet and access to water.

You can always try to pair more than once. After a few pairings, keep feeding her and just wait until she drops.

Are they communal?

No it's not communal. Males sperm web was about 10 days old max. She is accepting the food even now.

No, they are not

You should be fine, just keep her fed and wait for a sac. You can hatch the babies out with the mother if you want. Its amazing to watch them. The mother will catch prey for the babies and bring it to them to eat.

How often should I feed her?

Has she webbed herself in? What is her enclosure like?

These are easy to breed. Its more about your after care.

How old was female? How fat was she?

You can still provide food for female. But if she os full, and fetile, they tend to eat less.

If your prekilled is making its way then its extra nutrients.

Technicaly, she should have been at full speed, fat and full, before mating. So less risks of her being skinny at time of breeding. Once she goes into nesting, she mostly priotizes egg care.
