Well I had to downsize my collection to a couple freinds a few years ago and had to step away from collecting for a while and starting to collect and care for tarantulas again has reminded me of how much I enjoy setting up enclosers and how relaxing it is for me . So now I've started to collect Tarantulas again my husband and I are going to change our spare room into a nice animal (mostly terantula room). So I've been trying to change up the way I set up/modify enclosers and come up with new ideas just wanna know what you guys think of this one just finished for a p.victori sling. I used a few different types of moss mostly sphagnum glueed it to the cork with the leaf and kinda alternated them to make a sorta tree side hide :D 20220103_005707.jpg 20220103_005651.jpg

Doesn’t look finished to me.

not kept that species- only 2 other Psalmo species. They make dirt curtains so sub and then a piece of cork on sub.

It's not just kinda working on it wanted to get everything set in place before I put moss and substrate I've not had victori but have had Cambridgei and 2 irminia I love them to death I usually give them moss with they're substrate for the curtains the the bigger peice of cork bark Is kinda low to so it has some cool anker points and its another lil hide

That's fair thank you for your opinion I have a few others to set up I'll add some more pics later I love to hear people thoughts .but yea for my other psalmopoeuscin the past I just pretty much just burryed the cork at an angle and gave moss , substrate and a bit of leaf litter. I was just trying to come up with some new ideas 💡I might just stick to what I know works for them I am sure they're are quite a few arboreals that would enjoy that kind of set up tho

Also I tried gluing to acrylic ONCE—I never do it anymore.

Once a T craps all over it, the cork bark becomes a major pain in the rear to clean container when fixed in place.

I NEVER do it ever.

Needs more substrate. :mooning:

These guys are dirt curtain champs. Literally build curtains and tube tunnels and come out from under the dirt curtain, through it, and over it. One of the fastest Psalms I’ve seen, one of the slowest growing, and extremely reclusive. Mine is about 1.5” now. The P. irminia bought around the same time is 4”.

If you give it a slab it will display, but any slightest movement and they’re out faster than you can call the hubby to look. 😂

Do you have a concept for the room build? I did some wall shelves that are adjustable. Nice way to maximize space when it’s limited.

I really want to do shelves with live edges and hanging plants . im kinda thinking like a hard wood floor with live edge log book shelves light warm colors . Before i had to downsize I had turantulas, snakes, geckos ETC all on adjustable shelving units I had a good sized tarantula wall but I hated the tacky look of the metal shelving units

Here’s what I did with Rubbermaid tracks and shelves from the big box stores. Can hold up to 350#, not sure if that’s per shelf or what, but I only keep my acrylics on them. Hot mess, I’m in the middle of rehouses. 🙄

I just build the Irminia enclosure backwards so the lid opens over the hide. 🤦‍♂️ I have to redo it.

I used Govee RGBIC from Amazon. They can do all sorts of patterns and colors…never again. Waste and they have an addition water protection coating or something and don’t bend around corners well.

Cant wait to see what you come up with.

I have arachnophobia and I will swear up and down until I’m blue in the face that a cool display helps mitigate some of the anxiety. Super cool he’s involved too, part of the journey as a couple and sharing your interest.

Yea my ex wasn't about it all it made it kinda difficult but yea I feel that I was afraid for a really long time but I have a good freind of mine and her husband have around 160 T's probably more now but they started it for me but yea I use to freak out love the decorating I like to make all different environments I can nerd out on it for hours. I think what took the fear out of it for me was seeing them a juveniles they are just so God damn cute

Very nice setup! I would like to have the space for something like that. I am using wire mesh shelf unit for now. Maybe will be able to eventually expand some more…..

I bought a mixed pack of moss from a local pet store i think this is going to be 1 happy chilobrachys.(thanks rubbermaid) getting a almost 2 inch sling tomorrw and a few other Ts ive done so much research i am up for a bit of a challenge i check my animals every 2 days anyway because our place is quite drafty and we have a stand up heater so it pulls the moister out of the air, so i am hyper vigalent we also have some other animals that are pretty sensitive to moisture levels so thats already part of my routine .

Thanks. Drilling into wall studs is a commitment. I figured if it didn’t turn out well I could burn the room down and start fresh. 😆
