Harleychick, Wooot! No one has mentioned Acanthoscurria geniculata yet. Getcha one. They get big, beautiful, and you can take the lid off anytime you want cuz they do everything exceptionally slow- except at feeding time!! {D

Welcome aboard, :)

I'm going out on a limb here and recommending the Desert Blonde. I have five adult T's and the Blonde is the least skittish and extremely docile as well. And very, very beautiful in an earthy way that suprises you; I tend to think of earth tones as being mellow but not striking - the Desert Blonde proves that theory completely wrong.

Very slow moving.

Another good one to consider, I've heard, is the Honduras Curly Hair - supposedly they are just shy of immobile. I don't have one yet, though I did order some slings.

My Blonde just decided she preferred a burrow... under her water dish, of course. Glad I got pix of her while she was out.

Both my PZBs (E campestratus) seem quite docile, I have handled both. They are also pretty! Just remember there are personality exceptions to every rule. I have not yet managed to acquire another spider that is as willing and "personable" as my first T, Fang, from nearly 30 years ago. Perhaps one of the slings here...

Another striking one to have might be the C. Fasciatum (Costa Rican Tiger Rump). It's a little skittish, but it will most likely just hide in it's hole everytime you open the cage. It has bright colors and is a dwarf species. I have that and a few other mentioned here and others mentioned that are on my list...
