I have a friend, Monico, from work that told me once that he was at a river and saw a huge tarantula and he wanted to catch him for me but somebody else beat him to it. Well, this GUY was on my door step one night when I got home from Sea World and there was a little note telling me that my friend, Monico, had left it. I thought he had caught it at a river but when I spoke to him he told me that they had caught it in the Shipping/ Receiving area of my work. Nice of them not to smush it.

Temporary guest.....

I gave this guy a nice home for a little while (got some pics) then released him back into the wild so that he could find what he was looking for....what all(or most) males are looking for.......a willing female.

Here's a list of things to look out for when purchasing from a pet store. You don't want to get stuck with a mature male.

#1 - note the small abdomen

re: temporary guest

Well those pix sure look great! I wonder what kind of
critter he is? I saw you're from "SATX" which makes me
think San Antonio, Texas. Am I right?

If that's true, then it's probably some kind of aphonopelma.
I'd sure love to see a mature female of this species, whatever
it is! :)
