What Spiff is describing actually sounds more interesting than a trapdoor. I hope you will get the picture of the underside.

Also, you sort of need to know what you have before you finalize your set-up plans, don't you? What is it doing so far? Have you fed it already?

Edit: I just googled and the links aren't great so far:

http://www.brainyencyclopedia.com/encyclopedia/l/li/liphistiidae.html

But it says it is a primitive type of trapdoor spider? Where did you get this interesting spider?
i got it from a dealer of mine..only two... so i take all... {D but i'm just keeping them in a cylinder container about 10inch height and 5inch in diameter.... is it ok?? and with the substrate around 6-7inchese deep...

should i mist the substrate or supply them with water dish.... i only keep tarantulas and this was the 1st time i obtain these.. so i'm looking forward for some advises from u guys.. thankss...

with no data from where they were collected it's hard to say how humid they should be kept. :(

keep the substrate wet on one and dry on the other side and the temperature a little above room temperature and they should be fine

I guess

Check out the Amer Arach Soc link. Go to pg 5. I think this may be your best bet to get info for recreating the environment in which they thrive. It describes the depth of their retreats and it also notes that the area in which they found these types of spiders was where soil was kept moist. Apparently, the drier areas didn't have these spiders.

Forgot to ask: is it possible that these spiders were collected in Vietnam?
