yes you cani think its something to do with the end of there abdomen if it have two long.......things like not that long about 1 cm comeint out of it then its a male/female and if i dosent its male/female....im just not sure with is which.
I keep Eublaberus distante but I think it is similar with many roach species that on the last segment of the abdomen(end, ventral side)the males have two segments in about the same space where the females have only one. This area is fairly plain/featureless on the females, the males are just a little contured/funny shaped. Can post pics if anyone is that interested...
Roach butts! e. distante; female, then a couple
males. the males seem to be generally a tad smaller
than the females. Some, but not all of the
males also have darker coloration as seen in pic's.
You can see these features on larger nymphs
though it is much harder to discern.
Great pictures of the roach rears. I have always been a visual person; so even though I was already aware of how to sex roaches, in theory, the pictures just make it so much clearer in my own mind.
