Lobster roach question

Does anyone have experience in breeding lobster roaches? I still have my dubias of course, but I've been thinking about trying lobster roaches ever since I lost my B. lateralis colony to ants one ugly summer. The nyworms website states that lobsters can produce "toxic gases" when they get too crowded that can be fatal to the entire colony. I haven't read this anywhere else, though and I had never heard it before (been a while since I did some roach reading as it is). Anyone have any insight on this?

I have never heard ofroaches producing toxic gases.

And they should be very easy keepers and breeders. Keep them just like dubia except keep them in smooth walled container with vasaline on the edges.

Ive never heard of this either. It doesnt seem likely, but im not sure. Sorry to hear about your lats, i recently lost mine to mold. Lobsters are awesome breeders, and reproduce very fast. Just be sure to use vasaline to contain them.

Lobsters who are kept in high numbers and over heated will die, they can produce a gas off sorts but its more from teh frass than the roaches themselves.
I have experienced this with smaller colonies of lobsters but if maintained properly and not over heated they will be perfectly safe. They cannot produce a gas that is harmful but there frass will produce a gas if not properly maintained.
In general lobsters are great feeders and pose no harm as feeders, just make sure like everything else they are ventilated.
