I know that they are not tarantulas, but I was wondering if anyone knew much about this ancient spider lineage. I am very interested in liphistiids (or the Mesothelae), as they have a similar niche as that of a trapdoor spider, but have segmented plates on the abdomen. Have they ever been bred or kept in captivity?
