Since Euathlus sp. red fasts a lot, I'm personally not willing to take a chance. Besides, I'm willing to bet they do drink out of rain-filled tire tracks, puddles etc. when they're available in nature.

As determined as she is to cause extra janitorial duties for me by burying her water dish, I have seen this particular tarantula drink from it (and also lounge by it for hours, delicately resting her first feet and pedipalps in the water like a trophy wife at a Fourth of July pool party).
Hence why many including myself suggest to keep their substrate 50/50 dry/moist - because they supposedly hail from an area next to lake actually :D

I do use small vials. I just make sure the substrate is very moist when i give water, that way i dont need to give them water too often.
That's a problem with species that come from arid/semi-arid regions and have a low tolerance for moist substrate. Those can die in moist conditions.

There are many different kind of vials. i use tall and slender for arboreals, and wide ones for terrestrials and burrowers. it works just fine this way. I just adjust the amount of water i give them if it is a T from an dry region. and as a bonus, they are more easy because they dont need much watering.

Avicularia minatrix are the dwarfs of the Avicularia genus, rarely growing bigger than ~2.75" and to my knowledge the only Avic that retains its sling colors throughout their lifespan, not changing colors.

I have an adult female here that, besides being very quick and to an extent quite skittish, is also as reclusive as Psalmopoeus irminia.

Also - $250? WOW! I bought my girl for 20 or 30 EUR...those prices across the pond are literally nuts.

What are you thinking? It could be old, it could die in the next molt. Can afford a loss?

A. diversipes are one of the few Avicularia species that are quite defensive (much like laeta) and quite skittish overall. As for my channel, thank you. I really need to update it soon and will see to that perhaps next weekend.

You need to start breeding so you can sell/trade slings and build your collection for free. That's how a lot of us do it.

@Poec54 i would like to breed, like i said i have a female avic versi 4.5in that apparently had 2 successful sacs before. i just want to care for the tarantula first learn everything about it, have the care perfect then ill plan to breed. im still new to keeping tarantulas. my first 2 ts died on my 2 years ago, but i had a gbb that i raised up from 2.75in to 4in or so. that was the best t imo for a beginner. i sadly sold her and regret it every day. now 1 year later i have 0.0.3 balfouri slings from 1-2in in a communal setup and the versi. the hobby is getting addicting!!! i was a snake guy...kept and bred ball pythons.

A few of my T's don't really have water dishes. Well, they do but as someone mentioned, 8 buried dishes... Those T's I just have a spot or two that I pour enough water into the substrate every now and again. Been doing it for years with a couple of my more dish-hating Ts. Never had a problem. All my other Ts, not including slings, have dishes.
