Ok...ill give ya that.(speaking from experience, lol). But a lot more folks get married than get tats. And you can always go your separate ways, when it don't work out.
That tat goes with ya.I can get the hotel room without my other half. The tat goes to bed with me.ALL the time.Yes.I get you can have it removed.
You can get it covered up with another piece. Should you actually regret the original.

I know blokes who had the "bulldog with boxing gloves" when they were 18 and got them covered over in their 30's or 40's with a design they liked.

OP - Don’t have any T tattoos, but my only advice is don’t get an arboreal T tatted where your skin will sag when you’re older and end up looking terrestrial...this forum will roast you alive for improper husbandry.

Just add more substrate then.

Nothing more substrate won't fix!

I got this 17 years ago when I was much younger. Whoever drew this obviously didn't know much about tarantula anatomy, but had decent art skills.

Also if it looks stretched, it is. Years of burgers have added more... substrate to it.

As someone who started getting tattooed well before I started keeping tarantulas, I say go for it! You never know for sure who you'll be or what you'll want in the future, but you could also die tomorrow. Do what you want while you can!

Look on instagram for tattoo artists in your area, and find a style you like. Keep an eye out for pictures of healed tattoos, that's a good way to see the quality of their work!

Not everyone can be a lamborghini.
Everyone is a Lamborghini. But if you take it off road muddin’, fill it full of regular unleaded, and regularly smoke in side and drink and drive. That once prestine lambo, quickly turns into a worn 90’s Suzuki swift.

I'm not a Lamborghini, but thankfully I'm not a PT Cruiser either. I'm more like a Honda Civic from a few years ago, and some bumper stickers give me some added character :)

I think that as long as you choose something that's meaningful to you personally in some way or don't get an 'everlasting jobstopper' AKA facial or profane tattoos, go for it! I've never once regretted my tattoo. In fact it's something very special to me. To each their own! If you think that you'll still be enjoying your tarantula tattoo years from now, then I see no reason why you shouldn't do it.

What good is a lamborghini if you never drive it? Can't just hide it away and waste it. Not saying you should leave it outside in the weather but why have one if you aren't going to get it in your favorite color and show it off

That’s the point. Drive it every day if you choose. But it’s all in how you drive if. If you want to be a monster truck and destroy everything in your path, then dare to be bold my friend.

My question to the OP would be....are you sure you will be a T enthusiast for the rest of your life?. Granted.i don't know your age,but if you are younger than 30?,maybe,do you want that tat if you lose intrest in T,s.
Just because,im 66 years young,lol.40 years ago,i kept herps, and went to San Diego to attend a herp convention.Almost got a tat of a blood python.
How many herps do i have now?.0.....not telling you not to.its your body,do what you want.But.try like hell to make it something that makes you happy.
If you have the viewpoint that to get a tattoo because of your interest in the current moment means that you have to permenantly maintain that interest because you permanently have the ink, then I can understand this statement. IMO, as a heavily tattooed individual with a goal of 95% skin coverage, it's the wrong view to have and it's a bit dated. I've always viewed my ink collection in the same way that people view keeping a diary or a journal. They record your journey through life including the interests you've held, the people you've known, and their impact on the way you view the world. I have a lot of band tattoos. That doesn't mean I am required to listen to their music everyday. It just means that the music had some influence on the way I've developed as an individual and I wanted to signify that. Placement (visual or hidden) should be determined by your solidity in the imagery, what it represents to you, how personal the subject matter is, and whether you want to share it or not. Because I hold this viewpoint and I'm meticulous in designing my ink, I don't have a single one that I regret. In the extremely unlikely scenario that I do, they can be removed, modified, or covered up (seriously, some of the cover ups I've seen are amazing, including a few that are covering up solid black tattoos).
Circling back to the original request, I don't have any at the moment, but I have plans too. When I'm more solidified in my current career path, I plan on extending my Central/South American sleeve to my hand and including a AF Psalmopoeus irminia.

Well....thank you for the clarification.I know many younger people that have many tattoos and I have much respect for them, and so I extend that consideration to you and anyone else getting them to show lifes journey.
And I have friends that are my age,and older that have tattoos from the era of Vietnam/Desert Shield. It was not my intent to voice disrespect by my opinon .
But,i am getting a T,and therefore need/want a tattoo?.

No disrespect taken and I hope I didn't portray any in my opinion. Just because our opinions differ doesnt mean we cant be respectful and agree to disagree ;). My parents shared your opinion until I explained my viewpoint to them (now their opinion against them is solely based on cost and I should spend my money on other things. They share that opinion on my tarantula keeping hobby as well lol). For me, the reasoning of 'I'm getting a tarantula so I should get a tarantula tattoo' doesn't hold any sway in regards to making the decision to get a tattoo. Its like saying I'm going to the conveniance store to get a Red Bull, so I'm going to get a Red Bull tattoo. Now, if I really wanted to get a P. metallica or I had no animal experience and I started at the bottom of the ladder with a G. porteri and worked up to a P. metallica, then those would be reasons to get a tattoo (to set a goal, remind myself of that commitment, accomplish it, and remember the path I took to get there).
