Less defensive due to light?

I keep my T's in a north room with indirect sunlight. The room lights are off most of the time. When the lights are turned on, most of them dive for their holes. The N coloratovillosus go hide, then come back out a few minutes later as does the male N chromatus. The N carapoensis stay hidden as long as the light is on. The PZB never comes out of her hole, and the G aureostriata and two female N chromatus don't bother to go hide. They sit and wait to see if roaches are about to rain down from heaven.

I think all of them are more comfortable with less light. When I'm trying to take photos and have bright lights on them, they seem to get nervous. They do a threat display or hunker down until I touch them, then take off at full speed. I'll bet they are less aggressive/defensive under low light conditions.
