Thanks Phil,

I did e-mail Bert and you are correct, he did breed them. According to Bert, they do not drop their tails AND they do need UVB. He did say they need less UVB if you feed them vertebrates.

As far as food preference, Boris has stopped eating everything except canned low fat dog food, nightcrawlers, and f/t pinkie mice. Not the most balanced diet, but it is keeping him in good weight.

Boris is a great name :D

I'm not going to start mine on dog food. Crickets are cheap and easy. Not sure if they represent a balanced diet, but I'm supplementing with pinkies, waxworms, and earthworms. He can slam a dozen crickets rapid fire from my forceps in five minutes.
