Leaf insects?

Honestly, if we care enough I think a chance at change is possible, that is really the only way change happens. Considering the madagascan hissing roach was deregulated a few years back others may follow. I'm not sure on leaf insects but I wouldn't support the lifting of the ban on some phasmids which have escaped before.

There are several phasmid species that have very specific food requirements. Most commonly kept phasmids will only eat ornamental plants which means they could still become pests, but it's unlikely they will destroy crops. Some phamids will only eat one type of plant. So I think there's hope that we may be able to legally keep a type of phasmid one day.

Does anyone know when/how/why the hissing cockroach was deregulated? It might be interesting to find out what the process was.
