That footage is truly remarkable, never in my life did I think they could actually swim soooo well, nice images you found.:snaphappy:
Thanks ;)
That's actually not the first time I posted those here; there was another thread a few years back also discussing if tarantulas could drown.

I've known for a looong time that T's cannot drown, but being able to swim as well as your post shows is truly remarkable, @grayzone 's upload of his spider submerged for at least ten minutes was astounding, truly amazing creatures, and there are still people who say "Oh, why do you keep tarantulas that's horrible" I'll send them to this thread - then they may actually get the whole concept.(Maybe)

I still love this vid, and will post it anytime this topic comes up.

This particular specimen chose to flee into the waterdish, as an escape means. Enjoy again!

All these videos of tarantulas + water are the most adorable things ever..... It's why tarantulas are the best animals in the world!

Unreal for sure, @Arachnomaniac19 surely this is enough evidence to show you that your spider did not in fact drown. A few apologies are required if you ask me, it's called common decency, in your shoes I would be apologizing profusely - your call, but, it takes a real man to admit when he is in fact wrong!

You never know...... It may have been the very rare wicked witch of the west spider..... However @Arachnomaniac19 I'm sorry for your loss, but the advice and the logic behind the advice is all very good.

Not sure if you'd get a more positive response after telling them that. People probably go like 'WHAT!? Those creeps can swim as well?! I need to burn my house because I flushed a couple down the toilet!'
:shifty:

@Leila don't know the term in English, but in Dutch we have one that says something along the lines of 'common enemies make for best friends'.

I'm extremely sorry too, but if the OP had stuck around, then there wouldn't be all this controversy, as to your disliking of certain posts and responses, common sense - tells the whole sorry story.

'common enemies make for best friends'.
"Better the devil you know" - I think is the English variant of your expression.

Do some digging here on AB.
I remember a thread in the enclosure section (i believe) where a guy had h gigas in a tank that had live fish in a part of it.
The gigas would hunt and dive to catch them and make fish filets

99% of people just post regurgitated info, but i admire those that go against the grain and try new things. Tarantulas are pretty fascinating for being boring, primal invertebrates

Primal - YES, Boring - No Way, mines are always up to something or other, I've got OW's NW's terrestrial, fossorial, arboreal species, I only have 14 at this point, but they're always up to something, fascinating invertebrates.
